Dragons!!! Page complete! - 4 to go!!!

Yep, I know it's a lot of exclamation marks but I can't help myself. I'm down to one row (4 pages across) on the dragons piece. This means, that I will (hopefully) be able to finish it by 2015!! It's been a 6 year (I think) trial with this piece and actually I'll be sorry to be done it but happy at the same time. This piece has been through a lot with me and I've really enjoyed all the colors.
So here we are the latest page area that is complete. Not too complex:

And the full piece to date. Just the dragons head, some sky and wings left. Nothing too complicated once the head is complete!! So it should be a quicker stitch than the horrid (but beautiful) dragon scales were.

Alas, I saw the latest release from Ink Circles and the Town Mandala is soooo awesome! So February's budget, or maybe some bday money (my bday is in February) will have to go towards getting it and matching up some colors for our home. The new Mandala reminds me of a town we visited on our Netherlands trip called Maastricht. Here's what the new Ink Circles pattern looks like (it's not yet shipped for purchase anywhere from the newsletter info).

I'm struggling along with this whole don't just randomly buy stuff deal. What was I thinking with this whole budget thing! lol. But luckily I know 130 of you are also in the same boat. I've been bidding on ebay mostly planning on being outbid, it's almost like buying (hahaha!).
Hope you're all hanging in there. Want to check out the bloggers that are involved in Stitch From Stash 2014? Click the tab at the top of this page to see the list.

Thanks for stopping by and sharing your thoughts. :)

Glad to see I am not the only one feeling the pressure!! So far I have resisted. It seems easier to buy nothing than to try to buy a small amount!! Laura

Dragons looks great!

I usually have a few really massive splurges an year and the occasional buying of one or two DMCs as needed so I've been good so far. Not looking forward to when that yen to buy hits. I'll have to be strong then LOL

Wow...your dragon piece is amazing. Stick with it and resist the urge to splurge! Though I love the mandala too and agree it looks very Dutch.

Great progress on Dragons, it looks amazing. I'm really happy to be involved with SFS, as I have a large amount of stuff that needs to be done.

Love your dragon piece! Each time I get the urge to spend I just look at my 'to stitch' list or at the patterns themselves for motivation to keep to the plan and not buy more!

The dragon piece looks fabulous already! Congratulations on stitching it so far :) I haven't joined the Stitch from Stash officially but I'm still doing it (if that makes sense) as I want to stitch as many designs as possible from my stash this year.... It's going to be so hard :D

Love the dragon piece and will be cheering you on to a finish this year. It's a huge accomplishment to get one this far. I love the mandala. Start a wish list with pictures and leave it around for family to find as gift hints...

Mel,
I for one am super excited about Stitch from Stash. I want to see if I can really stick with this.

Your dragons are beautiful. I can see why the scales would get boring.

What a cute pattern and I can't wait to see your start and what colors you choose.

Have a great week.

Seriously - wow!!!! (with many exclamation marks). Dragon is gorgeous. Are you planning how you will finish it/exhibit?

Yay! You are so close to being done!!

I'm scratching my itch for new patterns by looking through old magazines and by checking out all the new crochet and knitting patterns on Ravelery. If something is free and I like it, then I download it. I have something new, and I didn't pay for it. ;D

Congratulations on finishing a page! It looks great! I know what you mean by not buying. I have to stop myself from looking at different sites.

That dragon piece is really awesome!!!!!! I love the greens in it.

Not had a problem with the no new stash so far. I have so much stash already and many of the things I want to stitch are items that I bought everything for last year. So I am good!!!!!! Stay strong!!!!!!

I love the dragon :) so far I've been ok but I have so many echanges, an RR and two SALs I can keep away from looking at new projects. I have started a stash used list on my blog http://aimetu-clare.blogspot.co.uk/ which is helping me keep on track

I've resisted spending anything so far. I think I'm going to save up a couple of month's budget and splash out :P
Best wishes.

I just know I couldn't stitch a piece as intense as your dragons - gorgeous as they are I would go mad!
So far I am managing with stitching from stash - my buying tends to come in cycles though!

Well done on finishing another page.

I am doing OK with the Stitch from Stash but guess as I have autos still I am not feeling the pressure too much!

The dragon design is stunning! So glad that an end is in sight!

I have been very good so far but I have been doing "Wear from Wardrobe" for last three years ie don't buy new clothes when you have a wardrobe (or three) full already.
My method is to put everything you want to buy on your wishlist then be paralysed with indecision and buy nothing!
I love that Ink Circles mandala too so it's on my IC wishlist with 10 other patterns I can't choose between LOL.
